Members Story

Many people talk about the friendly atmosphere at The Warehouse and say how it is unlike any other gym that they have been to.  I can attest to that, having also been to many gyms in the past there is no other that can match The Warehouse for the family feel.  Yet it doesn’t just extend to friendly banter in the changing room and at the reception desk as I discovered last month.

I have a rather adorable pooch that goes by the name of Heidi, getting on in years she is not known for her athletic ability and when taking her out on walks you can be confident that while she may lag behind sniffing around she will not go far.  Or so we thought.  A Monday night a couple of weeks ago I got a rather frantic phonecall from my husband, Jonathan, who had been searching for an hour for Heidi who had disappeared in the woods up in Kirkhill forest.  I straight away did what anyone would do these days and put the obligatory post on facebook, any available bodies to come and search?  I was truly touched and surprised at the amount of people that came straight out to look, some I didn’t know that well, some Jonathan had never met.  I have since found out that some of the warehouse troups that came out had got out of bed, ill, another came straight from a class foregoing tea that night.  Arriving around 7 they all stayed until the back of 11 until we could search no more.  Thankfully we got her back the next day the little monkey having found refuge in a nearby house.

My heartfelt thanks goes out to everyone that came to help and to the reader I hope this tale goes to show that its not just words and a cheerful joke.  The Warehouse is a unique gym where the people really do care.
