Well for most of you that have returned to the gym you will see the difference and appreciate the refurb. Being closed for a week was tough for our regular users and we thank you all for your patience and apologise for any inconvenience caused. We hope you agree it has been well worth it. Here we would like to list exactly what has been done during these last few weeks and also note things that we are still waiting for to be completed. 

• Gents changing room re painted
• Gents sauna & steam room gutted and cleaned
• Gents shower area & floors power washed & cleaned
• Gents lockers cleaned & maintained
• Ladies changing room floors power washed & cleaned
• Ladies lockers cleaned & maintained
• Studio 1 floor fully serviced and cleaned
• Spin bikes completely stripped down, repaired, cleaned and serviced
• Reception ceiling replaced with new fans, lights & speakers
• Pool plant room serviced & maintained
• Pool Boiler parts replaced
• Main gym painted throughout
• All wall & pillar carpet removed and new surrounds put on all walls & pillars to protect from damage
• Cracked mirrors removed and replaced
• New running track laid with functional training area incorporated
• New induction area created for teaching purposes
• 2 new cable cross overs in weights area
• New “protect” flooring in weights area
• New lifting platform for “hard core Olympic lifting”
• 10 sets of new dumb bells up to 50kg
• Old music speakers replaced with ceiling speakers re located in 8 different areas of the gym
• New I pod purchased with 2000 songs downloaded with variety of music to suit all tastes.
• All old electrics made safe in reception and main gym area
• New lighting in main gym, new plug sockets and additional health & safety issues addressed
• All gym machines maintained & serviced
• Weights Machines scrubbed and painted to prolong life
• Cross trainer finally repaired after waiting 3 months for a new part

 

We are currently awaiting:-

• Gents & ladies showers to be serviced with new control stoppers to ensure longer “staying on” time
• New squat rack
• Functional rig which will house monkey bars, punch bag, rings and trx
• Boiler parts for our pool and shower boilers which will ensure they are in full working order
• More flooring to continue coverage of weights area upstairs
• New seats for upright bikes in cardio area

We did not hire outside contractors to do ANY of the work above and the improvements you see are down to the sheer hard work and dedication of current members who are tradesman and the loyal team of 8 staff. Along the way, other members came to help clean up and offer their services to ensure the gym was ready to open on time.
 
We look forward to a bright future in 2012 and ask that you join our “warehouse family” by spreading the word of the hard work and dedication of these people who want YOU our members to enjoy the experience of improving their health in this, the last remaining independent health club in the city.
